Complaint: Well here is another dissatisfied customer of Cottmans Transmission in Round Rock Texas. I took my 2001 Dodge Ram in to have it checked due to it not going into 3 rd gear and sometimes slipping from 3 rd gear. Well, they did a road test and told me it needed to be rebuilt, I was told they didn’t know how I had made it to their shop it was so bad. I left it there that day. A week went by and they finally called and said it was ready, I picked it up drove about a couple of weeks and found it to be doing the same thing as when I took it in. I took it back, they had it for 5 days, called me and said it needed to go to a computer shop and have the computer read to do a diagnostic check / Cottmans advised that it was all in the computer,,well why does it do the same thing as when I took it in if it was just the computer??? I took it to Maxwell Dodge in Taylor Texas,. They said it was the tourq converter,,I took it back to Cottmans,,they said they would get right to it..a week went by,,they called and said they had replaced the tourq converter and it was still acting up so they were going to drop the transmission and look again,,they called the very next day and said they had found the problem, a spring had broke in the gear box and they replaced it. I went in to get my truck, asked them for the repair order, they said I coudn’t have a copy..and why not ? because THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WAS WRONG. It is still slipping and I’am not finished with this compnay..I will go to court with them on this,,not a problem.. Oh,,I called to talk to the manager,,a guy told me the manager had a heart attack last week and would not be beack to work till next week,,what a miracle,,he can have a heart attack and come back to work in a week but he can’t get a transmission repaired on time,,,,,,Go Figure…. STAY AWAY FROM COTTMANS………… Jerry Round Rock, TexasU.S.A.
