Complaint: I called Mr Leon at Transmatics transmissions in Tampa Florida and asked him if he could check if the gasoline hose from the gas tank to the gas pump was leaking, he said yes, I took the car to his shop, he lifted the car up and there it was the five inches long hose leaking as I told him. He asked me what did I wanted to do, I said, go ahead and change it. Mr Leon went across to a neighboring shop and brought a piece of hose three different times, it seams like he didn’t know the size of hose was needed. Mr. leon was playing around with different sizes of hoses until he was able to connect the third one. Mr Leon replaced the 5′ long gasoline hose, lowered the car down and told me its $60.00, with giving me an estimate before doing the work. I couldn’t believe this guy was charging me $60.00 for a 5′ long gasoline hose that cost less than a dollar and five minutes of labor. It took him longer to go across the street three times than the time spent in fixing my car. I got home and the car did not start, I called Mr Leon and he said that perhaps the gasoline pomp broke down. I saw Mr Leon struggling with the gasoline pump trying to fit the wrong hose two times before he broght the correct hose size , it looked like the pump electrical connection got loose. I just want every one in Tampa to be aware of what I believe is excessive charges and the lock of an estimate prior to your work being done. If I know I was going to be charged $60.00 for a 5′ long gasoline hose I would of taken my car elsewhere. Good luck. CP Cp Lutz, FloridaU.S.A.
