Arthritis and Rheumatology Clinical Center

The ER doctor(who was an idiot) told me I had gout(I do not have gout… he looked at my foot and didnt do any tests) so he sent me to Dr. Tehrani, a Rheumatoligist. I should have been sent to an Ortho. I waited 1.5 weeks to see Dr. Tehrani. In the meantime, I was out of work, in bed with my leg elevated(thats the only real remedy other than drugs). I first saw Dr. Tehrani and explained many times to her ,and the ER doctor, that I play rugby and run a lot. I know this injury started with turf toe and I highly doubt it’s gout because I eat very healthy and there were no major dietary concerns of gout that aligned with my diet. I told the doctors several times I needed an MRI.. NO ONE LISTENED TO ME…

A month later after having Dr. Tehrani’s care and her gout tests done(I waited over a month to get my results of gout) I find out I dont have gout… I wasnt reccomended any sort of shoes or insoles… just take anti imflamatory drugs and wait till it gets better… I researched and ordered steel insoles for shoes(which is a remedy for turf toe). So after walking in a boot, toughing it out, and running out of pain pills, My pain is again excruciating and all I can do is sit here and wait until an Ortho can schedule my surgery. ——–LET ME MAKE THIS VERY CLEAR—-

I told Dr. Tehrani and the initial ER doctor about my extensive rigrous athletic career, yet all of that was neglected to look for gout… meanwhile I’ve been walking on a severely damaged foot/toe/joint that carries all your body weight, making the situation and injury worse for These people only care about your money. T hey dont care about actually treating you. I had pain spurs come back after my 2nd visit with Dr. Tehrani(after I was initially seen and got a blood test and ultrasound, in which Dr, Tehrani found “fluid above the joint” but I was just put on anti-inflamatories and told to wait 2 weeks for the gout tests to come back..

I called Dr. Tehrani after hours around 8 Pm on a Sunday night because I was crippled and the pain spurs came back. I’ve been in pain for over a month( the amount of time I felt ok or not inflamed was maybe 5 days total).. I left her a voicemail about how upset I was and that my pain came back and I needed more pain killers(ibuprofen will not cut it for this kind of pain)… and she had the nerve to sit on the phone and ask if I was unsatisfied with her care, and then tell me she could guide me on how to take ibuprofen…. GTFO.

I had her order my MRI and Im now seeing an ortho who can properly care for me… It would’ve been nice if she acknowledged she didn’t know how to care for me and send me to an ortho initially. Instead I waited around for a month for her to tell me I don’t have gout and offer no real solution. This doctor did not listen to the most critical parts of why I may have this injury…. instead she looked for gout. I don’t care if rheumatologist looks for gout… when I tell you to get me an MRI and that its a sports injury… do not ignore what Im telling you and take my money and get me back for another visit. shitty practice. Cant believe Im still laying here with a broken foot.
