Dr. Josip Pasic

Dr. Josip Pasic had his medical license suspended by regulators after overprescribing narcotics as well as molesting mentally ill patients. The Chicago psychiatrist prescribed opioid painkillers and other drugs to mentally ill patients with whom he also engaged in sexual conduct. Jessica Bear, acting director of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation signed an emergency order on the same.
A recovering drug addict, one of Pasic’s patients, told investigators that he had to let the doctor touch his groin. He found it hard to find a doctor who would accept Medicaid and he needed his medication, so he had no choice, he said. When another bipolar disorder patient threatened to report it when he was groped, Pasic gave him $80.
Circle Family Healthcare has dropped Pasic as a doctor after this alleged behavior. Pasic has already been the subject of three investigations regarding his conduct with patients in the past. But he did not mention this to regulators. He also avoided telling Circle Family Healthcare about the investigations at the time of application for privileges there.
His license was pulled on an emergency basis, saying that Pasic was a danger to public safety. The federal DEA was also part of the investigation.
