Dr. Lowell Gerber

On 9th June 2015 the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine directed an urgent partial license suspension on the license of a Freeport Physician named Lowell Gerber. From that date onwards, he is no longer allowed to treat patients at his home and he can only treat female patients with the attendance of a female chaperone. This decision was taken by the board after it was clear that patients don’t feel safe with Dr. Gerber.
The board analyzed the information revealing that DR. Gerber had been practicing at his home and had had a sexual relationship with a woman who was his patient.
The Board was worried that letting Dr. Gerber practice at his home or without the presence of a female chaperone until the further hearing of the case would not be safe for the female patients. The next hearing will is scheduled for July.
