Fountain Hills Recovery

In summary, this place is awful! They do not inform you prior to coming in that it’s a 12 step program. I was told they have master level therapistS on site, their “primary therapists” are just behavioral health techs. I was never assigned to a “primary therapist” nor did I receive ANY one on one individual therapy

like I was told I would. The “therapists” were in and out of each group while they were in session. It’s 4 groups a day with random AA,NA and CA meetings. Detox was allowed in the house that we stayed at, no medical supervision was provided during that detox. The “counselors” are very aggressive and gruff. Every other word out of their mouths was the F word. One girl was told to shut up and that she’s the one with the mother F’n problem.

Very very unprofessional and no form of treatment of any kind. I left the facility early and had to call the sheriffs office to ask for help in getting my belongings from the office. They would not take me to get them and they were perfectly ok with me leaving the house at night time with no vehicle and no wallet. I was locked out of the house when I went out front to call 911. The sheriff had to bang on the window to get them to open the door. In my opinion, this is a very unethical “treatment center”.

They boast on helping first responders, there was never one word about helping me in any way with that. We played spin the bottle (with an empty water bottle) during one exercise in group. Very unprofessional in a room with people who struggle with alcohol. Prior to checking in, I was told I would have my own room. I ended up sharing a room with another patient. 4 girls shared one small bathroom while the entire upper level of the house was unoccupied. When we brought up the bathroom situation, we were told to just figure it out.

My outside therapist called two times and was never given a call back. On Saturday after we got back from a CA meeting around 130, there was nothing planned until the following day at 5 for another meeting. It was very difficult being in an inpatient environment with nothing to do and no individual help of any kind. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
