Hinsdale Orthopaedics

The front desk at Hinsdale Orthopaedics in Hinsdale has some problems. They wanted me to give them authorization to charge my credit card $2000 before my son even saw the doctor. No one at the front desk knew what the visit would cost. They told me that the doctors had voted this as a new policy. They also did not know how to send me a bill if I did not have internet at home.

I noticed that no one offered to pay for it. In addition, when I made the appointment for my son, I told the lady on the phone that the emergency room told me to tell her to access the x-rays taken via the hospital’s system. Upon arrival they wanted to take a whole new series because no one had obtained the x-rays. I do not like giving credit card information to a business without knowing what the charge will be.

I do not like no one knowing how to send a bill. And I felt gouged for $ on x-rays that were already taken. When we were scheduling the next appointment the receptionist asked if I needed a card. I had written the appointment in my calendar right in front of her. I said no, I just wrote it in the calendar. She says I’m sorry I have to give you an appointment card….it’s protocol. Does no one have common sense there?

Update: I can’t view downloads with out internet access. The ladies at the desk were quite clear that I needed to access attachments. I do not have internet and they had no idea how to handle that. Even the manager. They were also quite clear that they wanted me to sign authorization to Bill my credit card for $2000 automatically if they felt warranted.

No I did not want them to do that. It is my card and I might not even have that much available in it. They had no idea how much it would be and were very confused as to how to get a bill to me without email access. I understand the x-ray thing you state, but they kept telling me that they did not have the x-rays. When I kept complaining they told me that this is the system/protocol that the doctors voted in.
