I reached out to Marianne Gordon’s office based on the positive review outF. I needed her help, or her firm’s help, with a sensitive case concerning my daughter. While Marianne herself returned my call within 24 hours, by a week later, she told me she was too busy to take the case. She referred me to another junior attorney in the practice with more bandwidth who never responded to my subsequent emails at all. I spoke to him once, and nothing after that. I followed up a couple of times, and then found another lawyer. Even if he decided not to take the case, I would expect that the law firm manage themselves professionally, and would expect a return call or email or some sort. I was rather shocked at the complete non-response. A potential client is reaching out specifically because he/she is facing a very challenging issue. It’s difficult enough, and then if one has to chase a couple of attorneys, that only makes the situation harder. In the end, I guess it worked out because I love the representation I found, but it’s been bugging me since this summer. If you do reach out to these folks, you might want to make sure you’ll get a response. Hopefully Marianne ups the SLAs for her partners in the practice.
