Overlake Internal Medicine Associates

I scheduled my appointment 3 weeks in advanced with Overlake Internal Medicine Associates (which was the soonest available time Dr. Shawn Joseph Lee). The morning of, there was an accident on 405, and I was stuck in traffic for hours, missing my appointment. No leniency was given, and a $50 “No-show” bill was sent to me. Despite me calling to reschedule as soon as I realized I wasn’t going to make it.

I received the bill on the weekend and, not liking the way they treat patients, I called to cancel my appointment. I can only assume it was cancelled, as they have no secretaries or appointment-related voicemail on the weekend. I ended up leaving a message with their billing department and haven’t heard anything since.

So if you enjoy extremely long waits for appointments, an adherence to financial policies with no exceptions made for things like “real life”, and an absolute black-out of communicate on off-business times, I’d recommend Overlake Internal Medicine Associates. Otherwise, I’d look elsewhere for a physician.
