October 17, 2017, I received a call from, Kate, from pain management with Medicare. She asked me questions about any back pain or knee pain. I replied that some times I have knee pain. She then proceeded to attempt to get me to get a "free" knee brace provided by Medicare. I questioned her about why Medicare would send me something I didn’t ask for and her answer was this was free to help with my pain. Questions I asked: Who are you? Do you work for the government? Answers were a repeat of what she had stated in the beginning, pain management with Medicare. I stated I wasn’t comfortable answering any more questions, but I did finally say, "what would happen if I say yes I want one?" She told me their doctor would talk with me and take measurements to get me the right size. I responded I didn’t have time for that and she hung up.
