Peter Lik Fine Art Photography Review

No-Scam.com

Please be warned, Peter Lik is a scam artist. First off, let me be honest. I’m just an average guy. I like decent artwork. I understand that everyone needs to make a living, but then there are people like PETER LIK. PETER LIK IS THE DEFINITION OF GREED. This guy will rape your wallet. He is money hungry. Just look at his website. His expensive things.. multi-million dollar mansions, and other toys. I’m not making this up people. Anyway, I’m getting ahead of myself in this rant. Let’s start from the beginning of my story. I visited Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, NV the summer of 2012. During my stay there, I came across Lik’s gallery. I walked in and was impressed. His works are indeed saturated and colorful, so they are eye appealing. Upon entering I was attacked by numerous sales people (they are based on commision.. i get it). I was pitched an image in a small room, and didn’t intend to buy. Although, things changed quick when I was told it was an “”investment”” and that it would “”go up in price in the future””. DONT FALL FOR THESE LIES PLEASE! I did.. I’m an idiot. Please use me as an example not to fall for these sales tactic lies. I bought the peice on the spot, only to realize later that I was played hardcore. Once they get you into that little dark room with the sliding door.. BOOM.. it’s all over. They have you cornered and they will make you buy. If you walk out of there with your virginity it will be a damn miricle. I sure didnt. The sales people pitched to me that it was a great investment and that Peter Lik is reknown for all of his awards. But.. here are a few things I questioned and should have sticked with. These are obvious giveaways people. BE WARNED. 1. Peter liks is “”reknown”” according to who? According to himself. That’s right.. Just himself. His awards really don’t mean a damn thing. These “”reputable award associations”” are all jokes of associations. They have no real credibility. If they did have credibility, would every photographer in the world really be getting these awards? The answer is NO. 2. Art that is sold in masses is not valuble. Yes.. you read that correctly. Editions of 950 are not valuble, as the value increases as quantity decreases. This is pure evidence that Peter is simply cashing in on his works. He made high editions because he wants to sell more works and make more profit. It’s simple people. He wants money, not valuble collectors. If he wanted valuble collectors, he would limit his editions to 100 or less than. If you want to learn about real photographic masters of our time, read up on Andreas Gursky, Cindy Sherman, ect. These artists are true photographic masters. Peter lik is a joke comparted to these masters. 3. Here is the biggest kicker. Artist Proofs do not differ from Limited Edition prints, with the exception of the price tag. That’s right.. they are no different. You’ll pay three times more for an artist proof and be told that it’s much more valuble, but they are exactly the same as limited editions. I have confirmed this with numerous individuals that have and still work for Peter Lik. There isn’t a single different between the artist proofs and limited edition prints, so have a great time paying $12,000 more for an “”artist proof””, when it’s $12,000 profit right to Lik himself. Maybe Lik wipes his a** with a $100 bill and tapes it to the back of his artist proof, as a sign of all the money he is scammed from uneducated art buyers like myself. Hopefully my money went into his multi-million dollar mansion. I sure hope so. 🙂 How do I know these things? Truth be told.. I became friends with a gal who was recently fired from Peter LIk’s gallery back in 2009. She confimed to that my “”artwork”” was indeed worth little to nothing and that I was played hard. She was fired because she didn’t agree with the agressive sales tactics that Lik pushes on his sales associates. She has confirmed many of my rising doubts that I’ve had with this company. The edgy sales tactics, over the top marketing, and false hype of over-saturated artwork, all confirming that it’s certainly to feed Lik’s money hungy greed. Well done Peter Lik, but unfortunately your money will never buy back your reputation you overpriced pretentious aussie twat. Anyway, I was a sucker. I bought his work and held onto it for a year. Then I decided to turn around and sell it a good year and a half later. To my surpise, Peter’s works are selling dirt cheap online. Yes.. it’s true. The re-sell value of his works are pathetic. I payed $7500 for this piece and I can’t get $2000 for it online! Investment my a**! I feel like such a moron.. and the truth is.. I am. I was played by a good marketer and a bunch of money hungy salesman. I really learned my lesson, but I want others to beware of this as well. Take me as a shining example. Don’t listen to these saleman. Do your homework online and you will find everything you need to know about Mr. Peter Lik. Many are emerging from the shadows to admit they have lost a great deal of money from this twat. On my final note, I want to make something clear. Peter Lik does not care about his collectors. He cares about making money, that’s all. It’s all over his website. His pretentious attitiude and life of luxury shows he is in it for the cash. A true artist would not resort to making books, posters, calendars, ect, in the beginning. A true artist would not make such large limited edition prints with quantities of 950. TRUE ARTSITS SELL LOW QUANTITY PIECES FOR HIGH PRICES. That’s all there is to it folks. So, next time you’re in Lik’s gallery. View the works and get the heck out of there. Save your money for artwork that is high in value, and not overhyped with lies and false rumors. Peter liks reputation is on it’s way out. I hope you had a good run Peter, you pretentious aussie d*uche bag. It’s only a matter of time now before other “”collectors”” try and sell their artwork and realize it’s worth nothing and that they were lied to by you. If I can warn at least one potentail Lik buyer with this article, then I’m very grateful to have helped you. God bless and take care. Thanks for reading. .
