Reliance Home Comfort sold me the "Furnace Maintenance and Protection Plan" which was supposed to provide me with annual maintenance and repair if necessary. I stared the plan in March. By April RHC contacted me to set up a service appointment. I did. They sent in a technician who was supposed to do some maintenance/cleaning. After about 1 hour of working on my furnace he left a notice of infraction and told my wife my furnace needed to be replace within 49 days due to "boiler rotting through from interior". The next day I was contacted by their sale person for a new furnace.I felt like I was scammed so I contact the Union Gas Infraction Department and requested their assistance in this matter. The technician from Union Gas checked out my furnace then informed me that he couldn’t find the infraction the RHC technician stated and my boiler just need to be clean.
