Reservation Counter Review

I am a ******* ********* ***** ********* **** *** ****, I am filing this complaint on behalf of my wife, ***** ***********, a ****** ******* *** *** **** ***** ** ******** ******* ******** ***** ******. Flora had to book official travel for a trip to Pittsburgh, which she did through Reservation Counter . Com on Thursday, 2/13. They immediately charged $328.83 plus a $9.99 booking fee to the Visa Card. The stay was for a Hampton Inn in Uniontown, PA from 2/24-2/27 Due to a scheduling change, she had to cancel the reservation a day later, on Friday, 2/14. After cancelling, a refund was not issued. She called the company who informed her that there is a no refund policy. ***** thought that she was conducting business with the Hampton Inn directly, because on the confirmation, the webpage shows the Hampton Inn logo, and certainly appears to be official. When I looked into everything, I saw that the reservation was booked through Reservation Counter . Com. Some quick research found that this company has misrepresented and defrauded consumers for years under a number of different names. I contacted them on behalf of my wife, the first call was basically trying to figure out their policy, which I was informed was no refunds, no exceptions. After informing them that this was a planned trip for an agent of the government* **** *** ** ******* *******, and the failure to issue a refund would be referred to legal counsel, I was placed on a long hold subsequent to asking for a supervisor. After coming back on and off the line with me, she eventually came back on and hung up the phone. My second call was with a more forceful agent parroting company policy like a broken record. After asking to speak with a supervisor, I was placed on hold. After 25 minutes, I hung up and called back. The third time, I spoke with a woman supposedly named "Berna", she stated her supervisors name was "Dale". When questioned regarding policy of her company, she stated that their hotel partner (Hampton Inn) has the very same policy. When I challenged her that there is no way The Hampton Inn, a major hotel chain would adopt a no refund policy for cancelling a reservation with 10 days notice for a hotel stay in the ever popular travel destination of Uniontown, PA. Berna then contracicted herself by saying that it was the policy of some intermediary company, that doesn’t open until 9AM Orlando time to make any refund decision. I pointed out that she just contradicted herself, and she admitted that the company was not a direct partner with the Hampton Inn, but with another company that has a relationship with The Hampton Inn. She laughed, after being caught in a lie. I informed her that the company has numerous consumer complaints, and is continuing to mislead and defraud customers. Berna was as expected, unphased. The conversation ended with my threatening legal action, continuing collection efforts and lodging complaints. We also contacted Chase Visa to report this fraudulent representation by Reservation Counter . Com and requested a stop payment and a refund, which is still pending. This is a dangerous company that is basically stealing money by misrepresenting itself and defrauding consumers. Legal action should be taken, and they should not be allowed to conduct business.
