I was contacted by email for real company Skykick about a job as a Remote Graphic Designer. I responded on Friday, got the response and information on who to contact for an interview. and then proceeded to setup for the interview using chat to do preliminary interview with Tim Tillman on Monday with Google Hangouts: [email protected] I chatted with him off and on throughout the day-talking about the position offered and needs of the company. He asked me for my address and where I was located, which I gave. At the end of the day he offered me the job, and told me what I would need for starting the required position. He asked me if I did direct deposit-I said yes-but did not give information. He then went into detail about what I would need to do, and that they would be getting a startup check for me to purchase needed equipment. I asked him to send me an email to confirm the list and requirements, which he did not. I asked for an inperson interview-which he said did not need to happen until after all was set up. I asked for more info and he asked if I could be online at 8am today which I responded with a postpone til 9am as I had an appointment. He then asked for my a copy of my ID, and all of my personal information to "guarantee the job". I knew this was fishy and I asked for a contract with all the details before I sent anything to him to make sure it was legitimate-which is when the conversation was severed. That is when I finally saw on the Skykick website to watch out for a scam-using this exact setup. I am glad I caught myself-but still gave out name and resume, and my address, and information about computer equipment I had to use for this job-so I am afraid they will come to my house and break in.
