Dark page popped up on my computer , mostly covered with a white page that gave instructions to call a Microsoft licensed technician at a phone number listed for help to prevent crashing my system. I was told if I shut my computer off, it would damage the system as well as could affect my Ipad and smart phone. This resulted in a contract with SM Technologies, Fairfax, VA for $399.99 to handle this problem and provide 2 years technical support. I allowed this person to access my computer and he controlled it for about 3 hours. I have been told by friends this was probably a Scam. Is SM Technologies a reliable company?
