This firm and likes of these acquire CC customer service numbers of major cards with just the variation on the first 3 digits. e.g 1-888-528-2122 instead of the 1-800-528-2122 for American Express. Say the lines are busy and while you wait they have some offers which they will record your consent on for recurring payments. and hang up instead of transfering to the customer service once done. Call back and ask what services you signed up for and you will be amazed. 5-6 marketing offers usually with 5 – 6 on first month and 25 and bigger on recurring post that if you dont cancel.You will never know how many firms and what numbers to call to cancel and the only way is to call card company and issue blocks on these merchants . for that you need to do the research to call back that fraudulent number and find the merchants you signed the offers for fraudulently.in my case American Express rep failed to note down the merchant names I gave to help everyone and I saw today over 200/- charged so far by one of the ones in the list I provided. Amex also did not have the notes on the names of the merchants I provided in April and the fraud rep just issued a new card, which obviously does not deter a recurring pymt which they establish .
