Someone claiming to be from "Spokane Library" recently called a library customer and started asking for personal identifiable information. Because the person answering the phone trusts the library, she started to provide answers. Her spouse overheard, asked her to stop, and got on the line with the caller. When the spouse asked the caller why he needed the information and didn’t get a good response, the spouse asked to speak to a supervisor and the caller hung up. The husband then reported the incident to his local library branch manager.
