We rec’d a hand-addressed envelope with no return address, Inside was a letter that looked like a certificate appearing to be from Publisher’s Clearing House signed by an Austin Porter and "certified" by a Pter Brown claiming that we had won 2nd place of $550000 in a lottery and enclosing a check from Steelcity for $7897. No mention was made of sending them any fees. I looked up Steel City on the web and called them. I said only that I had a check from them and they volunteered the amount and said to THROW IT AWAY, that it was no good. Everything looked fine on the surface, but when you look at all the little things that didn’t add up, it screamed fake!
